Ishika Panta | She/ Her | is a passionate advocate for free speech, youth empowerment, and gender equality. As the Founder of Project Abhaya, she has led initiatives that empower marginalized youth and women, offering leadership, narrative building skills and self-defense training across Nepal. With Abhaya she has served as the First Secretary-General of Nepal’s national Model United Nations has engaged over 4,000 young people, with a 60% female participation rate across the country. Ishika is also committed to environmental preservation and actively participates in global initiatives like the Caux Forum and Skoll World Forum.
Our Thematic Areas
Leadership Development in STEM
Provide comprehensive training programs for girls in STEM fields, along with career education opportunities. Focus on developing leadership skills, enhancing personal and professional abilities, and empowering youth from diverse educational backgrounds.
Life Skills and Safety Education
Educate youth, especially from marginalized communities, with life skills training. This includes safety techniques to prevent and respond to Gender-Based Violence, menstrual hygiene education, and addressing social issues. Equip them with the knowledge and skills to effectively handle emergencies.
Civic Engagement and Governance
Promote civic education among youth, encouraging their active participation in governance and democratic processes. Empower them to become informed and engaged citizens, contributing positively to their communities and society at large.
Our Aspirations for Project Abhaya
In the year 2025, through our community outreach and disruption initiatives, we aim to achieve the following goals:

Life Skills Training for Marginalized Youth
Educate over 5,000 marginalized youth with life skills training, including self-defense, Gender-Based Violence prevention techniques, and knowledge of Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM). Equip them with the ability to respond effectively to emergencies and address existing social problems.

STEM and Career Education for Girls
Offer comprehensive STEM training and career education to over 5,000 girls across Nepal. Develop their leadership skills and enhance their personal and professional abilities, ensuring youth from diverse educational backgrounds gain the tools to excel in their chosen fields.

Environmental Conservation and Sustainability
Educate communities across Nepal on environmental conservation, organizing initiatives that promote sustainable practices and climate action. Aim to engage at least 5,000 individuals in activities that foster eco-friendly behaviors and contribute to environmental preservation.

Provide civic education to over 5,000 youth, encouraging active participation in governance and democratic processes. Empower them to become informed citizens and proactive participants in the political landscape of Nepal.
